Furniture

Thanks SwissMiss

A very talented fellow furniture designer and all around cool guy Daniel Moyer gave us the heads up that we had been posted on SwissMiss. This is really neat - I read her blog pretty religiously and Eric and I have attended her creative time morning events. These events have fantastic speakers, attendance is free and are very inspiring. Thanks SwissMiss!

First Day BKLYN Designs!

Ok so it's been awhile since we've posted. I could never have imagined how busy we would be from the time we applied to today - the first day of BKLYN Designs.

Let's Start A Company?

So our biggest dreams and fears have been granted to us all at once. Thrilling as it was to be accepted into BKLYN Designs, now we have less than 4 months to make it all happen. We feel good about our ideas, but they have to become "products." We think we're good designers, but now we need to be a company. It means exploring manufacturing options, learning about how small businesses work, creating an identity, not to mention building more prototypes and putting our whole booth together! One of the first and most important items on the list is creating this website. Lucky for us, our good friend Chromix knows more than a few things about making websites, and he started by getting the perfect domain name: colleenanderic.com. We'll be adding things along the way, but for now, a blog.

BKLYN Designs 2010!

Colleen and I just got the news that we have been accepted into the BKLYN Designs 2010 show! We're designers by training but not occupation and have been quietly working on our own stuff for years. The BKLYN Designs show has really become a crazy big deal and we've been impressed by the work shown there. After watching from the sidelines for a few years, we decided it was time to give it a go. The application process was pretty official, and we knew we were up against both smart designers and established companies, so we did our very best, and hoped for the best. They liked it! We're pumped, and now Colleen & Eric is for real.
